Interior Designer / Sales Role

 

Company Information:

The Curtain Superstore has over 40 years’ experience in curtains and textiles and are proud to claim that they have the largest selection of curtains and fabrics in the North East of England. Unlike most stores they don’t contract their making-up out but have their own workroom onsite with experienced staff capable of making and altering any type of curtains and blinds.

Outline of job:

The successful candidate will working in store, in the design centre and in made to measure curtains and Blinds. The main duties will be assisting customers in selecting fabrics and wallpapers for their home in store as well as designing window dressings. Another key part of the role will be visiting customers’ homes and advising them on designs, colours and styles and measuring windows. The ideal candidate will have a flare for interior design and keep up to date with current interior trends.

Education/ experience requirements: interior design degree or relevant qualification or 2 years work experience in fabric or curtain design and manufacture.

Product knowledge: some knowledge of curtain fabrics, made to measure and accessories would be ideal.

Most important skills:  face to face customer communication, design and knowledge of colour trends.

Place of work: Blaydon, Tyne and Wear

Salary: from minimum wage to £10 an hour dependent on experience.
